The SStB - Gleichenberg to Stainz were steam locomotives of the Southern State Railway (SStB) of Austria-Hungary .

Since the 2B- compared to the 2A-design , 2B-locomotives were ordered in America for the nine machines SStB - Admont to Lipoglau , which were supplied by the locomotive factory of the WRB , which had somewhat smaller dimensions. The smaller wheels suggest that they were used more in the freight train sector. The ten locomotives were delivered by William Norris in Philadelphia in 1846. They were given the names GLEICHENBERG , BRUCK , MUR , MÜRZ , MÜRZZUSCHLAG , KAPFENBERG , LANGENWANG , NEUBERG , WARTBERG and STAINZ .

The locomotives of this series came to the Südbahngesellschaft in 1858 as part of the privatization of Austrian state railways , which assigned them the numbers 886–895, and from 1860 the series number 17 . They were taken out of service as early as 1864, before they were included in the new series scheme.

The SB 891 MUR was sold to GKB in 1864 , which used it as a construction locomotive and was not retired until 1878. The MUR formed together with the five machines Graz , Soeding , LIEBOCH , KREMS and Kainach in GKB the numbers 1-6.
