The SV Florsheim is a 1909 established sports club from Florsheim am Main in Hesse Main-Taunus-Kreis . The women's soccer team currently plays in the Wiesbaden group 2 , the men's soccer team also currently plays in the B Main-Taunus district league . In addition to soccer, the club also offers kickboxing , among other things .
History of the football department
Since the club was founded in 1909, there was also an athletics department and a soccer team. After the First World War, the South German Football Association, i.e. the German Football Association, was joined in 1919. In 1928 they even got into what was then the highest league. After the Second World War, gaming operations were temporarily paused due to violations of requirements. In 1949 a sports field could be built for the first time.
Women
The women's team was able to take part in the DFB Cup twice . This was achieved for the first time in the 1985/86 season , but lost to SC Klinge Seckach in the first round . For the 1992/93 season it was then possible to qualify again, after a bye in the first round and a win against FV Faurndau in the second, they failed in the round of 16 at KBC Duisburg . In the promotion round to the women's Bundesliga in the 1992/93 season , they were in Group South 1 , but only came second after SC 07 Bad Neuenahr , which was not enough for promotion.
After relegation after the season from the Landesliga-Süd in the 2003/04 season, you could rise again in the next season with a large point advantage directly from the district league, now in the now called Landesliga Gruppe Süd . In the 2007/08 season they rose again with a large point advantage, from the now located district league , in the group league . In the 2009/10 season this league became the Verbandsliga Gruppe Süd , at the same time as the penultimate one rose again from this league to the new group league. The Wiesbaden group league became the Wiesbaden district league for the 2019/20 season , where they currently play in group 2.
Men
Although the men's team has existed since the club was founded, there have only been significant successes for the one-time participation in the Tschammer Cup in 1936 . There they lost to SV Waldhof Mannheim in the first final round .
If you played in the 2003/04 season in the district league A , you made promotion to the district league group Main-Taunus after the 2004/05 season . But then rose again at the end of the 2007/08 season as the penultimate. Then season after season a worse place in the table followed. In the 2012/13 season could then not save as Penultimate in a playoff and got into the Kreisliga B from. Then a season later the renewed descent as Table in the county league C . In the 2014/15 season, however, you could leave this again as runner-up. In season 2017/18 it failed last in a playoff as the third placed on a renewed rise in the District League A .
