history

Today's SV Heidekraut was founded in 1987 and has over 500 members in the football, badminton , women's sports, karate , children's gymnastics , Monday sports, table tennis and dance alarm departments .

The sporting figureheads of the club are the soccer players. In 1999 they made it to the district class and a year later they made it through to the district league. In 2003 he was promoted to the fourth-class Lower Saxony league , which from 2008 is called Oberliga Niedersachsen . In 2012, the team secured the championship of the Oberliga Niedersachsen-West for the first time, but lost the decisive promotion game to the Regionalliga against the second team of VfL Wolfsburg with 1: 6. Two years later, the second season championship followed thanks to a goal difference that was two goals better than SV Union Meppen . SV Heidekraut lost the deciding game for promotion to the Regionalliga against TSV Limmer 4-5 on penalties . Since TSV Eintracht Immenbeck withdrew its team from the regional league, SV Heidekraut was also allowed to rise. After two years, the team had to relegate again.

The first men's team of the club plays in the 3rd district class Emsland-Süd.
