The SV Limmer 10 was a sports club from the Hanover district of Limmer . The first soccer team played for five years from 1949 to 1956 in the highest amateur league in Lower Saxony.

history

The association was founded in 1910. The sports field of the sports club was on the Leineinsel near the Schwanenburg and in earlier times could only be reached by ferry . The football team's heyday began in the later 1940s under Karl Laue, the first president of the Lower Saxony Football Association . For two years they played in the Hanover regional league against relegation and in 1949 after a 2-1 win in the decider against SV Munster they were accepted into the Lower Saxony- West amateur league . After only one season you had to relegate. During the season, at least a 5-0 win over season winner Eintracht Osnabrück succeeded .

After the direct resurgence under coach Fritz Deike was missed in 1952, the leap into the second division succeeded. Now appearing in the Eastern group you could establish yourself in the midfield of the league. At the time, Horst Wilkening , a later German amateur national player, played for the club. Nevertheless, the team had to return to the amateur league 3 as the penultimate in 1956 . In 1962 you had to get down from this and in 1972 you got into the district league. In 1977 it merged with the gymnastics club Limmer, founded in 1892, to form TSV Limmer .
