The SV Rot is a sports club from the Stuttgart district red .

history

The club was founded in 1945 by expellees from southeast Europe as FC Batschka and later renamed Sportverein Rot . As early as 1948, the club was promoted to the A-class, in which they won the championship in 1959.

SV Rot was present nationwide in the DFB Cup of the 1980/81 season. In the first main round he had to travel to the North Rhine upper division TuS 08 Langerwehe , where he lost 5-0. In 1981 the SV became champions of the regional league and was promoted to the then fourth-class association league Württemberg , in which he was able to establish himself for ten years. After relegation in 1991, SV Rot disappeared from national football and after a 10th place in the district league A (2010/2011) completely from active play.

Due to financial difficulties, a merger with the neighboring association TV Cannstatt was initially discussed. After the failure of the merger, at the end of 2008 / beginning of 2009 the opportunity arose to merge with the neighboring club TV 89 Zuffenhausen , which, however, failed despite the optimal conditions of both clubs in a vote at the general meeting of SV Rot. In the vote, five dissenting votes were enough to miss the 90% quorum required. Subsequently, the board of the SV Rot resigned.

The newly elected board of directors has been leading the fate of the association, which is still independent and is on the way to financial recovery. A merger with another association is not up for discussion until further notice.

In 2012/13 only youth teams were active in match operations.

A men's team was reported again for the 2014/15 season. This currently plays in the district league B Stuttgart.
