In 1937 all local clubs merged to form VfL St. Ingbert , which was renamed SV St. Ingbert on December 26, 1945 . On August 7, 1948, the 1. FC St. Ingbert split off and on March 5, 1950, FC Viktoria 09 St. Ingbert split off.

Soccer

In 1950 the club rose to the Saarland Amateur League . Three years later, Karl Slopianka-Hoppe took over as coach and heralded the most successful period in the club's history. In 1955 the team became champions of the Saarland. Shortly before the start of the promotion round to the II. Division , Helmut Schön took over the coaching position and led his team to promotion. After a twelfth place in the 1955/56 season , the championship and promotion to the Oberliga Südwest followed a year later.

There they got off to a good start in the 1957/58 season with a 4-0 win over FV Speyer and St. Ingbert took over the championship lead. During the season, the service provider Heinz Vollmar fell ill with tuberculosis . Without Vollmar, the team was relegated from bottom of the table. The club belonged to this class until the second division was dissolved in 1963.

In the following years the SV St. Ingbert belonged to the amateur league Saarland. The highlights were the runner-up championships in 1965 , 1967 and 1969 . In 1971 he was relegated to the 2nd amateur league. After two years he was promoted again, which was followed by the championship in the amateur league in 1974 . Because of the dissolution of the Regionalliga Südwest, this success was insignificant.

In 1981, SV St. Ingbert was relegated from what is now called the Saarland Association League and was then passed straight through to the District League. After the direct resurgence, the St. Ingberters made it through to the association league. In the 1987/88 season , SV St. Ingbert took part in the DFB Cup and lost 2-0 to Union Solingen in the first round .

The club managed one last rebellion again in the late 1990s, when the march from the district to the association league succeeded again. This high was short-lived and in 2005 the team had to relegate to the district league. The team has now returned to the regional league. There they celebrated the championship in 2013, which means promotion to the association league. In July 2016 the club withdrew their first team for personnel reasons from the beginning of the season from the association league; A start in the regional league was planned. For the 2017/18 season, SV St. Ingbert played one season in the Landesliga Ost, before canceling the men's team from active play.
