The SV Stern Breslau (officially: Sportverein Stern 1920 Breslau eV ) was a sports club from Breslau . The first soccer team once took part in the German championship of the Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Association (ATSB).

history

The association was founded in 1920 as BSG Großmarkthalle Breslau and one year later it took on the name SV Stern Breslau. In 1925 this merged with the Breslauer FV 06 to form the Breslauer FV 06-Stern , which five years later took on the name Breslauer FV 06 again. In the meantime, SV Stern Breslau was re-established.

SV Stern Breslau took part in the ATSB game operations and was first champion of the ATSB district of Silesia in 1922 . In the first final game of the East German championship , the team was eliminated by a 0-1 home defeat against Eichenkranz Eulo . Also in the next two years Stern Breslau became district champion in Silesia and took part in the subsequent championship games. In 1923 the team was eliminated by a 2-1 defeat against Tasmania Forst . In the 1923/24 season , the team was first East German ATSB champions through victories against Tasmania Forst, Alemannia 22 Berlin and FT Ponarth. In the semifinals of the German ATSB championship, the team faced FT Gerresheim from Düsseldorf , against which the Breslau team only prevailed 3-1 in the replay. In the final against Dresdner SV 10 in Dresden's Ilgen-Kampfbahn , however, the Breslau team had no chance and lost 6-1.

After the seizure of power of the Nazis in 1933, the SV Stern Breslau was banned and dissolved.
