history

Beginnings up to the Second World War

The gymnastics club in Zeltingen was founded in 1886 . In 1926 an athletics department was founded. In the same year, the club also refused to establish a football department. As a result, over 50 members left the association and founded the association Deutsche Jugendkraft DJK Alemannia Zeltingen . In the next few years, both clubs competed steadily against each other. After the National Socialists came to power , both associations were gradually dissolved and finally merged in 1935. On April 7th, the statutes were adopted and the new club was renamed the Turn- und Sportverein Zeltingen . However , there was hardly any activity during the Second World War .

post war period

After the end of the war, activities in the departments were gradually resumed, first the gymnastics department and then the athletics department. The soccer department was added later. This also played at least in the 1949/50 season in the then second-class Landesliga Rheinland , at the end of which with the 11th place in the south team, relegation was due. In 1951 the club, now known as the Zeltingen Sports Club, was entered in the club register. In 1963 a women's gymnastics department was founded. In 1966 a tennis court was built and a tennis department was founded.

1970s to the turn of the millennium

The 85-year-old foundation festival was then celebrated with a guest performance by Eintracht Frankfurt . In 1975 the name was changed to the current name SV Zeltingen-Rachtig . In 1982, with SV Ürzig , a soccer game community was founded for the first time. In 1985 the sports field was completely renovated, with the soccer field also receiving drainage. In addition, all lines were re-laid. From 1987 to 1988 the clubhouse was expanded. For the inauguration of this, the traditional Borussia Dortmund team were guests in mid-July 1987 . The floodlight system , which was destroyed by Hurricane Wiebke in 1990 , was then rebuilt in 1991. Another natural disaster was the flood of the century on the Moselle in 1993/94 . As a result, the Moselle was 1.2 meters in the clubhouse. Then the soccer field had to be completely renovated. In 1995 another flood of the century followed, after which the fencing had to be largely replaced. In 1999, the first soccer team can move up to the A-class , but this should be followed by many coaching changes. At the same time there was a syndicate with the Spvgg. Bernkastel-Kues. educated.

The current century

In 2000 the soccer team had to relegate to the district league B again, at the same time a renovation of the sports field was added. In 2001 the association received the Sepp Herberger Prize for outstanding youth work. After the 2006/07 season, the team can finally be promoted to the district league A. Due to the second place after the 2013/14 season, the team was finally promoted to the District League West for the 2014/15 season . After the end of the 2015/16 season, however, the team rose to 15th place with 24 points. Thus, the club has been playing in the district league A since the 2016/17 season .
