Saalhausen is a village southwest of the Saxon city of Oschatz . The settlement belongs to the Oschatz district of Thalheim .

history

In 1262 the place was first evidently mentioned as the manor of a Petrus de Zalesen (Peter von Saalhausen), and in 1551 as a manor. From 1696 the manor was under the authority of Oschatz , the community from 1875 under the authority of Oschatz . In the 19th century it formed a rural community with the district of Kreischa before it was incorporated into Thalheim in 1936. From 1952, the municipality of Thalheim belonged to the district of Oschatz before it was incorporated into the city of Oschatz in 1974.

Manor Saalhausen

The manor in old script originated from a Vorwerk . In 1475, Hans von Bora and Matthis von Grauschwitz were enfeoffed with the courtyard and the outbuilding. The owners of the estate since the 15th century included the von Saalhausen (also "Salhausen"), von Grauschwitz , von Bock , von Wolframsdorf , von Schleinitz , Eulitz families and the family of the conservative Reichstag and state parliament member Theodor Günther .

By order of the Ministry of Justice, the jurisdiction of the manor was transferred to the Royal District Court of Oschatz on March 13, 1856, including over Saalhausen, Kreischa, Lampersdorf , Limbach and Thalheim and the Altoschatz water mill .

At the ancestral seat of the von Saalhausen family, the Meißner bishop Johann VI. his childhood.
