Career

society

Saber Khelifa started his career in 2005 with the local club Stade Gabèsien . There he only played for one season, however, in July 2006 he moved to the record champions Espérance Tunis . There he was able to celebrate winning the Tunisian Cup in 2007 and 2008, but in two seasons he only played 24 league games and scored only once. For the 2008/09 season he moved to Club Sportif de Hammam-Lif , where he made his breakthrough in the league. At Hammam-Lif Khelifa showed his effectiveness in front of goal, in the first season he scored eight goals in twelve games, in the 2009/10 season he scored twelve goals in 20 games. Thanks to his consistently good hit rate, Espérance Tunis brought him back during the 2009/10 season. With Espérance he then won the Championnat de Tunisie in 2009/10 and 2010/11.

In January 2011, Espérance accepted a free transfer to the then second division club FC Évian Thonon Gaillard in the summer of 2011. On August 10, 2011, the change was finally completed and Évian Thonon Gaillard even made it to Ligue 1 . On August 14, he made his Ligue 1 debut and even scored the decisive goal in the 1-0 win over OGC Nice . In his team, Khelifa quickly secured a regular place and completed 31 league games in the 2011/12 season and scored four goals.

On May 12, 2013, he scored a goal from a distance of 64 meters in a 4-0 win over OGC Nice.

National team

He made his A international debut on November 10, 2010 in the qualifier for the 2012 African Cup of Nations against Botswana . He came on in the 78th minute for Ahmed Akaïchi , but could not prevent the 0-1 defeat. He scored his first international goal on October 8, 2011 in a 2-0 win over Togo . He was also part of the 23-strong Tunisian squad for the 2012 African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon , and was used in three games.

So far, Khelifa has played 23 international matches, in which he scored four times.
