Sabine Giesbrecht

Sabine Giesbrecht (also: Giesbrecht-Schutte) (born January 25, 1938 in Gumbinnen , East Prussia ) is a German musicologist .

Life

In 1968 Sabine Giesbrecht wrote her dissertation at the Free University of Berlin on the subject of Der Länders : Investigations into the musical structure of odd-rhythm Austrian folk dances . She taught at the Institute for Musicology and Music Education at the University of Osnabrück and was the editor . At the University of Osnabrück she was most recently in the Department of Education and Cultural Studies , where she retired in 2003.

Giesbrecht is the founder of the Archive of Historical Picture Postcards , Prof. Dr. S. Giesbrecht at the Osnabrück University Library, which she runs together with Dietrich Helms.
