Sabrina Sarabi

Sabrina Sarabi (born August 27, 1982 in Kassel ) is a German-Iranian film director .

Life

Sarabi studied theater and film studies at the University of Utrecht and directing / screenwriting at the Art Academy for Media in Cologne .

Her short fiction film Spiel aus Glas was voted short film of the month by the Wiesbadener Filmbewertungsstelle (FBW) and won the 2010 Anec Award for cinema operators at the Giffoni Film Festival. Her 20-minute graduation film White Night was shown at various international film festivals, including the Brno International Short Film Festival (Czech Republic) and the Molodist Festival in Kiev (Ukraine).

Her debut Prélude premiered at the Munich Film Festival on June 28, 2019 . The cinema release in Germany is on August 29, 2019.

Sabrina Sarabi is currently working on the film adaptation of Alina Herbing's debut novel entitled “Nobody is with the calves”.
