Sachiko Furuhata-Kersting ( Japanese 祥子 ・ 古 畑 = ケ ル ス テ ィ ン グ , Sachiko Furuhata-Kerusutingu ; born August 12, 1975 in Yokohama ) is a Japanese concert pianist .

Life

She took her first piano lessons at the age of three. After winning the New Pianist competition in Japan, she came to Germany to study at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold and the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf . Her teachers were Arnulf von Arnim , Roberto Szidon , Detlef Kraus , Naoyuki Taneda and Willem Brons. She also took master classes in Salzburg (Liske), Weimar (ringenissen) and Sion (Szidon).

Furuhata-Kersting has been invited to concerts in Italy, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Japan. In 2012 she was named a Steinway Artist by Steinway & Sons .

In 2012 she made her debut at Suntory Hall in Tokyo, 2013 in London, 2014 in Basel, 2015 in Luxembourg and 2017 in Cardiff as well as at Usher Hall in Edinburgh. She made her debut at Usher Hall in Edinburgh on July 29, 2017, and at Carnegie Hall in New York on November 22, 2017 . In addition to her solo recitals, she played a. a. with the Russian State Philharmonic, the Palatinate Theater Orchestra, in 2016 with the Osaka Chamber Orchestra and in 2017 with the German Radio Philharmonic. She was also a guest at the EuroClassic music festivals and the Rhineland-Palatinate cultural summer.

In 2017 there were radio broadcasts on Saarländischer Rundfunk and Südwestrundfunk .
