Sadok (Blessed)
The blessed Sadok , Latin Sadocus († 1260 in Sandomierz ), was a Dominican . He founded the first branch of the order in Poland and was murdered with 48 confreres and twelve visitors to the service during the Mongol storm in 1260 in the St. Jacob's Church in Sandomierz. On October 18, 1807 Sadok and his companions were beatified by Pope Pius VII . Whether Sadok with that of St. Dominikus himself is identical to the founder of the monastery of the same name and prior from Hungary. The Catholic Church celebrates the feast day of St. Sadok and his companions on June 2nd .
