Saetia ( sā-sha: pronounced) was a screamo band from New York that existed from 1997 to 1999 and is considered to be the style-forming element of the screamogenre.
history
Saetia is founded in February 1997 in New York. The band name comes from an unintentional misspelling of the song Saeta by Miles Davis . In October 1999 the band disbanded and the single Eronel was released in 2000 and a collection of all of their recorded songs in 2001 under the name A Retrospective . The band's first and last live shows both take place at a club called ABC No Rio .
The band members change constantly. In the two and a half years of the band's history, 4 different members play bass. The drummer, Greg Drudy, also played with the band Interpol shortly before they achieved worldwide success. After the breakup, the band members split up into the bands Off Minor , Hot Cross , The Fiction and Instruction .
