Mohammad Said Daftari (born November 26, 1982 in Bergisch Gladbach ) is an Afghan soccer player who last played for the national division 1. FC Mönchengladbach .

Club career

Career in Germany

The midfielder began his career in the youth team of SV Union Rösrath and soon moved to the youth department of SC Freiburg. After moving from Freiburg to Mönchengladbach, the former South Baden selection player at Borussia Mönchengladbach. His first senior club was the former league club FC Wegberg-Beeck. He then played at PSI Yurdumspor Cologne , VfB Speldorf and KFC Uerdingen 05 in the major league . For the 2008/09 season he joined the NRW league club SSVg Velbert . A year later he switched to the second team from Wuppertaler SV Borussia , which he temporarily led as captain.

Careers in Finland

Since August 2011 he has been playing for the Finnish second division club Kokkolan Palloveikot . Daftari made his debut on August 14, 2011 (18th matchday) in the 3-2 defeat by Oulun Palloseura . He has been playing regularly since his debut and has played 6 games so far. However, he was no longer used after relegation to the Finnish third division in 2012, whereupon he ended his engagement in Finland.

Return to Germany

After more than two years without a club, he joined 1. FC Mönchengladbach in March 2014 , which plays in the Lower Rhine regional league . The change also came about through his brother Khaled, who acts as an assistant coach there. In 2015 he became state league champion with the Mönchengladbacher and rose to the Oberliga Niederrhein .

National team

His greatest sporting success was the invitation to the national team of Afghanistan , the homeland of his parents. At the South Asian Cup in 2008 , he played three international matches and scored one goal, but his team was eliminated in the group stage.
