Saida Gunba ( Georgian საიდა გუმბა ; Russian Саида Гунба * 30th August 1959 in Sukhumi ; † 24. November 2018 ) was a Soviet javelin thrower .
At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow she won the silver medal in the javelin throwing for the Soviet Union . With a width of 67.76 m, she only had to admit defeat to Cuban María Caridad Colón and relegated Ute Hommola from the GDR to third place.
Saida Gunba was 1.68 m tall and weighed 74 kg during her playing days.
