Saifi ( Arabic الصيفي, DMG aṣ-Ṣaifī ) is a district of the Lebanese capital Beirut . It lies on the eastern edge of downtown and adjacent to the outskirts Medawar , Remeil and Achrafieh .

Saifi includes the districts of Yesouiyeh (sector 27), Mar Maroun (sector 28) and Gemmayzeh (sector 29). The former campus of the Université Saint-Joseph , founded in 1875, was located in Yesouiyeh , where the Bibliothèque Orientale is still located today. With its mix of restaurants and bars, Gemmayzeh is one of the most famous nightlife areas in Beirut. The Goethe-Institut Lebanon has also had its headquarters in Gemmayzeh since 2017 .
