Minet el-Hosn

Minet el-Hosn ( Arabic ميناء الحصن, DMG Mīnāʾ al-Ḥiṣn ) is a district of the Lebanese capital Beirut . It is located on the western edge of the city center and borders the outskirts of Dar el-Mreisseh , Ras Beirut and Moussaitbeh .

Minet el-Hosn comprises the district of the same name (sector 20) and the two districts Bab Idriss (sector 21) and Kantari (sector 22). To the north, the district borders the palm-lined promenade, the Corniche , where the attack on Rafiq al-Hariri took place on February 14, 2005 .

The Haigazian University campus is located in the district . Well-known buildings are the Phenicia InterContinental Hotel , which opened in 1961 , the Platinum Tower, completed in 2008, and the Beirut Terraces, completed in 2017 .
