Saint-Romain-sur-Gironde is a former French commune with last with 61 inhabitants (2013) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). It belonged to the Arrondissement of Saintes and the Canton of Saintonge Estuaire (until 2015 Canton of Cozes ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Rominais .

With effect from January 1, 2018, Saint-Romain-sur-Gironde was merged with Floirac to form the Commune nouvelle Floirac of the same name . The former communes were not granted the status of a Commune déléguée in the new commune .

Saint-Romain-sur-Gironde is located on the northeast bank of the Gironde in the historic cultural landscape of the Saintonge . Saint-Romain-sur-Gironde is surrounded by the neighboring towns of Floirac in the north and Saint-Fort-sur-Gironde in the south and east.
