Sajad Esteki (born April 23, 1990 in Isfahan , Iran ) is an Iranian handball player . His height is 1.90 m.
Esteki, who was the first Iranian to play in the German handball league , can be used in all positions in the backcourt , mostly on the left.
In August 2015, Esteki moved from the Iranian first division club Samen-e-Sabzevar to the German Bundesliga club TVB 1898 Stuttgart . The Iranian scored eleven goals in twelve Bundesliga games before the club announced the early termination of his contract with immediate effect in December 2015.
Then Esteki ran for the Qatari club al-Gharafa. Esteki has been playing with his older brother Allahkaram at Dinamo Bucharest since summer 2016 . With Dinamo he won the Romanian championship in 2017 and 2018. In the summer of 2018, Sajad Esteki moved to CSM Bucharest together with his brother Allahkaram . A year later he moved to the French second division club Cesson-Rennes Métropole HB . In 2020 Esteki rose to the top French league with Cesson-Rennes Métropole HB.
Esteki has played 63 international matches for the Iranian national team and took part in the 2015 World Cup with them. With 21 hits he was the best thrower in this tournament in his position in the left back space. In qualifying for the 2016 Summer Olympics , he failed with Iran at the Asian qualifying tournament in the final against Qatar . At the 2010 Asian Games he won the silver medal with Iran and the bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Cup . At the U-21 World Cup 2011 Esteki was the most successful thrower with 84 goals, as was the U-19 World Cup 2009 with 65 goals.
