Sakhorn Khanthasit (born December 10, 1971 in Loei ) is a Thai wheelchair tennis player .

Career

Sakhorn starts in the paraplegic class .

She has participated in three Paralympic Games so far . In 2000 she was eliminated in Sydney in singles in the second and in doubles in the first round. Far more successful she was in 2004 in Athens , when she reached the quarterfinals in the singles and won the silver medal in doubles. In the singles she lost her quarter-final against Esther Vergeer in straight sets. Together with Chanungarn Techamaneewat they moved into the final without losing a set, which they lost against Esther Vergeer and Maaike Smit with 0: 6, 4: 6. They succeeded in winning the first Paralympic medal for Thailand in wheelchair tennis. 2012 inLondon she went back to the Games. Again reached the quarter-finals in the singles and lost it repeatedly against Esther Vergeer in two sets. With Chanungarn Techamaneewat, she lost in the semi-finals of the doubles competition against Marjolein Buis and Esther Vergeer, and in the subsequent bronze game against Lucy Shuker and Jordanne Whiley they were left behind.

At the Para-Asian Games , she won the gold medal in both the singles and doubles competitions in both 2010 and 2014 . In 2010 her double partner was Chanungarn Techamaneewat, in 2014 Wanitha Inthanin .

In the world rankings she achieved her best placings with sixth place in singles on February 2, 2004 and also with ninth place in doubles on May 24, 2004.
