Jordanne Joyce Whiley , MBE (born June 11, 1992 in London ) is a British wheelchair tennis player .
Career
Jordanne Whiley suffers from osteogenesis imperfecta and starts in the paraplegic class .
She has participated in three Paralympic Games so far . In 2008 in Beijing she was eliminated in the first round in both singles and doubles. In 2012 in London and 2016 in Rio de Janeiro , she won the bronze medal in doubles with Lucy Shuker . They defeated Sakhorn Khanthasit and Chanungarn Techamaneewat in the last game in 2012 and Yui Kamiji and Miho Nijo in 2016 . In 2012, she was eliminated again in the first round against Khanthasit, and in the third against Jiske Griffioen in 2016 .
At the Wheelchair Tennis Masters , Jordanne Whiley and Lucy Shuker reached the finals of the doubles competition for the first time in 2010, which they lost in two sets. In 2013 and 2014 she won the double title with Yui Kamiji . At Grand Slam tournaments , she also celebrated her greatest success with Kamiji in 2014: the two won all four tournaments, at the same time it was their first four titles. In 2015 she won the individual competition at the US Open .
In the world rankings, she achieved her best placings with third place in singles on June 6, 2016 and first place in doubles on July 20, 2015.
Her father won Keith the bronze medal in the 100 m at the 1984 Summer Paralympics . He is also a wheelchair tennis player. Because of her achievements in wheelchair tennis, Jordanne Whiley was named Member of the British Empire in 2015 .
