Lucy Shuker (born May 28, 1980 in Qatar ) is a British wheelchair tennis player .

Career

Lucy Shuker has been dependent on a wheelchair since a motorcycle accident in 2001 and has started in the paraplegic class since 2002 .

She has participated in two Paralympic Games so far . In 2008 in Beijing she was eliminated in both singles and doubles in the second round. In 2012 in London she won the bronze medal in doubles with Jordanne Whiley . They defeated Sakhorn Khanthasit and Chanungarn Techamaneewat in the last game . In the individual, she was eliminated against Jiske Griffioen in the quarterfinals. In 2016 she won bronze again with Jordanne Whiley.

At the Wheelchair Tennis Masters , Lucy Shuker was three times in the finals of the doubles competition. In 2006 she lost with Korie Homan against Esther Vergeer and Jiske Griffioen, in 2008 she failed again with Florence Gravellier to Vergeer and Griffioen. Her last participation in the finals was in 2010 with Jordanne Whiley, in which she was defeated by Sharon Walraven and Aniek van Koot .

In the world rankings, she achieved her best placings with fifth place in singles on March 25, 2013 and third place in doubles on June 10, 2013.
