Chanungarn Techamaneewat (born September 7, 1958 in Bangkok ) is a Thai wheelchair tennis player .

Career

Chanungarn started in 1997 in the paraplegic class .

She took part in two Paralympic Games . In 2004 in Athens she lost her opening game in singles against Kaitlyn Verfuerth in straight sets, but won the silver medal in doubles. Together with Sakhorn Khanthasit she moved into the final without losing a set, which she lost against Esther Vergeer and Maaike Smit with 0: 6, 4: 6. They succeeded in winning the first Paralympic medal for Thailand in wheelchair tennis. In 2012 in London she played again at the Games. Again she was eliminated in two sets in the first round, this time against Marjolein Buis . With Sakhorn Khanthasit she lost in the semi-finals of the doubles competition against Marjolein Buis and Esther Vergeer with 0: 6 and 1: 6, and in the subsequent bronze match against Lucy Shuker and Jordanne Whiley they were left behind.

At the 2010 Para-Asian Games she won the gold medal with Sakhorn Khanthasit in a double competition. In the individual, however, she was eliminated in the first round.

In the world rankings, she achieved her best placings with rank 27 in singles on August 11, 2003 and also rank 17 in doubles on July 1, 2013.
