The former Israelitische Kinderheilstätte Salinenstraße 34 in Bad Kissingen , the major district town of the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen , is one of the Bad Kissingen architectural monuments and is registered in the Bavarian Monument List under number D-6-72-114-339 .

history

The two-storey red sandstone - Boss square -constructions with half-hipped roof was in 1905 Kissinger from Bad architect Carl spasm built as Kinderheilstätte for Jewish and partly Christian children. The detail forms of the romanizing side sills are reminiscent of the New Synagogue, which was demolished in 1939 . The garden fence that was created at the same time belongs to the property.

The construction of the children's sanatorium was initiated by the Bad Kissingen rabbi Seckel Bamberger . The children's health center was open from May to October and could accommodate up to 85 children at the same time. The house was equipped with a sunbathing lawn, sunlamps and brine baths . Philipp Münz and Jewish and Christian staff were responsible for the care .

If the parents were in need, the costs were covered by the welfare associations and welfare institutions. Annual donation collections for the institution also took place among the Jewish spa guests.

In 1919, the children's sanatorium was expanded to the east with a three -story wing with a gable roof for working Jewish girls and women. In 1927, a spa hospice for adults was built on Altenberg , which in the summer of 1928 was already caring for 196 Jews in need of spa treatment and recreation.

In 1932, the Bad Kissinger Saale-Zeitung praised the fact that the children's sanatorium was able to provide extensive charitable services for the children in care despite the austerity measures required by the global economic crisis and at the same time increased demand.
