Carl cramp
Carl Krampf (born August 23, 1863 in Bad Kissingen ; † June 16, 1910 there ; full name Franz Carl Joseph Krampf ) was a German architect and building contractor.
Life
Krampf was one of six children of the hotelier Wilhelm Krampf (1831–1917), owner of the “Wittelsbacher Hof” hotel in Bad Kissingen, and the brewer's daughter Barbara (Babette) Graser (1836–1908) from Untersteinbach (now Rauhenebrach , district) Hassberge ). Carl's younger brother Franz Krampf (1875–1945) was also an architect; This is where the Tattersall comes from in Bad Kissingen .
Carl Krampf lived as a "private architect" in Bad Kissingen and was the most important architect in the wider region at the time. In Bad Kissingen alone, around the turn of the century he had a lasting impact on the image of his hometown with around 50 buildings. During the economic and social heyday of the spa town, he introduced an artistically valuable and aesthetically satisfactory building method and followed the popular styles of historicism and art nouveau with his architecture . Some of his buildings are still preserved and are now listed .
He was co-owner of the Bad Kissingen construction company "Krampf & Bauer". As a respected citizen of Bad Kissingen, he was elected as a member of the magistrate . He was also a first lieutenant in the Landwehr , a member of the volunteer fire brigade and founding member of the Bad Kissingen section of the German Alpine Club .
Krampf married on April 13, 1894 in Bad Kissingen Olivia Streit (born January 1, 1874 in Oakland (California) , USA; † August 10, 1913 in Bad Kissingen), the daughter of the privateer Kaspar Wilhelm Streit (1839-1899) and from Kissingen the American Barbara Hack (1846-1915). The daughter Anna (1897–1961) and the son Wilhelm Karl Franz Krampf (1898–1991), professor at the University of Regensburg, came from this marriage .
