The Salmysch ( Russian Салмыш ) is a right tributary of the Sakmara in the Russian Oblast of Orenburg .

The Salmysch rises in the western Ural foreland. It flows mainly in a southerly direction through the Orenburg Oblast and flows into the Sakmara Ural tributary about 20 km north of the city of Orenburg on the right . The Salmysch has a length of 193 km and drains an area of ​​7340 km². The river is mainly fed by the snowmelt . Between the end of March and the beginning of May, the Salmysch usually has floods . In November the river freezes. It will be ice-free again by April. The mean discharge 79 km above the mouth is 10.4 m³ / s. The most important tributary is the Bolshoi Yushatyr from the left.
