Solomon Swiss

Salomo Schweizer (* 1993 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss oboist and English horn player .

Career

Salomo Schweizer began his musical career as a recorder player and as a choirboy in the Lucerne choir . At the age of 14 he switched to the oboe and was soon accepted into Kurt Meier's oboe class at the Lucerne School of Music .

From 2013 to 2016 he studied at the Zurich University of the Arts in the classes of Simon Fuchs (solo oboe Tonhalle Zurich ) and Martin Frutiger (oboe, English horn ). He then began a master's degree with Jean-Louis Capezzali in Lausanne and completed his studies with Dominik Wollenweber in Berlin .

As a soloist , Salomo Schweizer a. a. with the Braunschweig State Orchestra , the “Young Philharmonic Central Switzerland”, the New Basel Orchestra , the “ Arosa Festival Orchestra” and the “ Zug City Orchestra ”. He is also invited as solo oboist by various orchestras , including a. from the 21st Century Orchestra , from the Musikkollegium Winterthur , from the State Opera Hamburg and the Deutsche Oper Berlin .

He is also a guest at music festivals such as the Walkenried cloister concerts or the Königslutter cathedral concerts .

From 2016 Salomo was Swiss solo oboist in the Verbier Festival Orchestra, and since the 2017/18 season he has been solo oboist in the Braunschweig State Orchestra .

  • 2012: 1st prize with distinction at the Swiss Youth Music Competition
  • 2012: 1st prize at the Luca Figaroli International Oboe Competition in Adrara San Martino
  • 2016: English Horn Prize at The Muri Competition
  • 2017/18: Foundation prize for young musical talents Meggen from the Swiss music academies
