Salvador Kuri

Salvador Kuri Zermeño (* around 1945 in León , Guanajuato ), also known by the nickname Chava , is a retired Mexican soccer player in the position of goalkeeper .

Life

Kuri began his football career with an amateur team in his hometown León and later moved to his hometown club Club León , where he was able to gain first experience in the reserve team. The leap into the first team was out of the question at the time, especially since it was not possible to get past their goalkeeper Antonio Carbajal . Because Kuri showed a convincing performance in the reserve team, he was signed by CF Torreón , who was still playing in the second division at the time . In 1969, Kuri succeeded in advancing to the top division with Diablos Blancos , in which city ​​rivals CF Laguna had also been represented for a year , to which Kuri moved in the early 1970s.

In the 1974/75 season Kuri was under contract with CD Guadalajara and advanced to the goalkeeper of Chivas, who was used in 23 (of 38) league games. In the last encounter of this season, a home game against Atlético Potosino , which was lost 3-2, he was sent off in the 71st minute.

Kuri was also under contract with Deportivo Toluca , his hometown club Club León and Atlético Potosino .
