Primera División (Mexico) 1974/75
The 1974/75 season was the 32nd regular championship round in Mexico since the introduction of the Primera División (the highest Mexican football league) in the 1943/44 season.
The previous season's relegated club , Club San Luis , was replaced by promoted UANL Tigres. The team of CF Torreón was also replaced after the license sale to the Leones Negros de la Universidad de Guadalajara. Because the league was also expanded from 18 to 20 participants, the teams of Unión de Curtidores and Atlético Potosino were invited to play in the first division as well. The choice fell on the second club, probably because of its headquarters in the city of San Luis Potosí , after the Club San Luis, which is also located there, had just been relegated.
As in the previous season, the championship was divided into two groups, although each team competed twice against each other (in one home and one away game). Once again, the two best-placed teams in each group (Toluca and Cruz Azul in one group, as well as the two clubs from León , Club León , which is established in the league, and the newcomer Unión de Curtidores in the other group) qualified for the championship finals, which this time too was held as a group tournament and not in the knockout system , as is usually the case in Mexico.
Relegated to the second division was at the end of the season of CF Madero as the team with the fewest points scored.
