Salvador Luis Reyes (born September 28, 1968 in Guadalajara , Jalisco ) is a Mexican football coach and former player who mainly played in midfield . Life

player

His first game in the Mexican Primera División played Reyes de la Peña on December 3, 1988 in the jersey of his home club Universidad de Guadalajara in their 0-1 away defeat against the Tigres de la UANL . His first first division goal was on February 11, 1989 in the home game against Cobras Ciudad Juarez , which was lost 2-1. His greatest successes with the Leones Negros were the runner-up in the 1989/90 season and the cup victory in the following 1990/91 season.

Immediately after this triumph, Reyes left the university club and played for Puebla FC for the following four years . For the 1995/96 season he returned to his hometown and was under contract with CD Guadalajara , where his father was an important part of the best Chivas team of all time in the 1960s. But Salvador Reyes Jr. could not prevail here and only made two top division appearances. Therefore, he left the club again and ended his active career in the ranks of Atlético Celaya .

Trainer

Salvador Luis Reyes celebrated his first triumph as a coach with the rise of the second division club Gallos Blancos Querétaro , which he coached, to the first division. But at the end of the 2006/07 season the immediate relegation followed; also directed by Reyes, who was allowed to look after the team for the entire first division season despite the failure.

In the second half of 2007 he worked as an assistant coach for Club Necaxa , for which he was responsible as head coach in 2008 after the departure of the previous head coach Hans Westerhof .

In the second half of 2009 he coached Club León and in 2010 he worked as assistant coach under Rubén Romano at Santos Laguna . Reyes de la Peña has been an assistant coach for the Mexican national team since January 2011 .
