Salvatore Todisco (* thirtieth August 1961 in Naples ; † 25. November 1990 in Todi ) was an Italian boxer in the flyweight .

successes

The only 1.61 m tall Salvatore Todisco was Italian champion for the first time in 1982, won a bronze medal at the Mediterranean Games in Casablanca in 1983 and a silver medal at the 1983 European Championships in Varna .

At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles , he defeated Gerard Hawkins from Ireland (5-0), the reigning Panamerican champion Rafael Ramos from Puerto Rico (4-1) and Keith Mwila from Zambia (5-0). Due to a hand injury he could not compete in the final match against Paul Gonzales from the USA and therefore got out of the games with the silver medal.

In 1987 he again won a bronze medal at the Mediterranean Games in Latakia and ended his career in 1988. He then worked for national coach Franco Falcinelli.

Salvatore Todisco died in 1990 as a result of a traffic accident on the European route 45 near Collevalenza in the city of Todi.
