The Salvesen Cove is a bay at the southern end of Hughes Bay on the Danco Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located between Brabazon Point in the east and Valdivia Point in the northwest.
The bay is shown on maps of the Belgica expedition (1897-1899) under the direction of the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery . They probably named whalers after the whaling company Salvesen & Co. founded in 1872 by the Norwegian Christian Salvesen in Leith , Scotland .
