The Salyer Ledge is a 1,300  m high and flattened mountain ridge in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located at the western end of the formation The Fortress , the plateau consisting of a series of mountain ridges and basins that occupies the western half of the Cruzen Range in the Antarctic Dry Valleys .

The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 2005 after Lieutenant Commander Herbert Lee Salyer Jr. (1916-1999) of the United States Navy , who was co-pilot and navigator with Commander William Michael Hawkes (1910-1994) on February 20, 1947 in As part of Operation Highjump (1946-1947) undertook an aerial reconnaissance flight during which the Cruzen Range was first sighted and mapped.
