Sam Harris (born June 4, 1961 in Cushing , Oklahoma ) is an American singer , musician and stage actor .

Life

In 1983 Harris became known internationally as a singer with the song "Over the Rainbow". His first single, "Sugar Don't Bite," was a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1984. Over nine studio albums have been released by him. As a singer, he has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, the Los Angeles Universal Amphitheater and London's West End. As a theater actor, he was active in various musicals. Harris has appeared as a guest on various American television talk shows. Harris starred in three films: In the Weeds (2000 as Jonathan), the documentary Little Man (2005 as himself), and the film Elena Undone (2010 as Tyler). Harris married a film producer in August 2008 and adopted a son with him.
