Samuel Kay "Sam" Hunt (* 6. August 1951 in Longview , Texas , United States ) is a former American American football player at the position of the linebackers . He played seven years, six of them for the New England Patriots , in the National Football League (NFL).

Life

Hunt played college football at Stephen F. Austin State University . He was selected in the 1974 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots in the 15th round as 374th player. After the 1979 season, Hunt moved to the Green Bay Packers for a final season in the NFL , but for which he was no longer used in the regular season . His younger brother Byron Hunt also played in the NFL.
