Sam Mintz

Sam Mintz (born July 12, 1897 in Minsk , Russian Empire , † September 13, 1957 in Oakland , California , USA ) was an American screenwriter from what is now Belarus .

biography

Mintz began his work as a screenwriter in the Hollywood film industry in the mid- 1920s and, after making his debut with Easy Money (1925), wrote the templates and scripts for nearly 40 films.

At the Academy Awards in 1931 he was nominated together with Joseph L. Mankiewicz for the Oscar for the best adapted screenplay for Skippy (1931).

Other films that he made based on his templates and scripts were Fools for Luck (1928), The Kibitzer (1930), Sooky (1931), Anne of Green Gables (1934) and Roberta (1935). He worked with film directors such as Charles Reisner , Edward Sloman , Norman Taurog , William A. Seiter and George Nichols junior .
