Sambach is a district of the city of Mühlhausen in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia .

The town lies on the northwestern outskirts of Mulhouse direction Kuellstedt on the country road 1006. The district of the hamlet is on the edge of the Thuringian basin , the wide Unstrut lowlands located southeast.

The then larger single farmstead was registered for the first time on November 20, 1290 and recorded in the document book of the formerly free imperial city of Mühlhausen No. 373. In 1565 Sambach had a population of 4. In 1603 the estate was bought by the city of Mühlhausen. The place thus belonged to the area of ​​the Free and Imperial City of Mühlhausen . In the 17th and 18th centuries, parts of the property were repeatedly destroyed by war and the forces of nature.

In 1802 Sambach fell together with Mühlhausen to the Kingdom of Prussia , from 1807 to 1813 to the Kingdom of Westphalia ( Canton Mühlhausen ) created by Napoleon , and after the Congress of Vienna in 1816 it was assigned to the district of Mühlhausen in the Prussian province of Saxony .

In 1949 it became a state-owned property. Now the owner operates organic farming and social therapy.
