Samir Cavadzadə
Samir Cavadzadə (or Javadzade ; born April 16, 1980 in Baku ) is an Azerbaijani singer. He represented Azerbaijan at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest .
biography
Samir Cavadzadə enrolled at the Institute for International Economic Relations at Baku University of Economics in 1997. In 1998 he switched to a music school for three years. During this time he played in the band Sharon .
Participation in the Eurovision Song Contest
On February 2nd, 2008 Cavadzadə won together with Elnur Hüseynov the Azerbaijani preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 (ES), Land of Fire , with the Song Day after day . Cavadzadə and Hüseynov appeared as angels (Hüseynov) and devils (Cavadzadə). In the first semifinals of the ESC on May 20, 2008, both managed to place themselves among the ten most popular entries, which meant moving into the final four days later, where they finished eighth in the victory of Russian Dima Bilan .
