Samira Saygili (* 1983 in Karlsruhe ) is a Turkish-German singer, composer and music teacher.

Life and accomplishments

Saygili began her career with classical singing at the Karlsruhe State Theater . She studied jazz singing in Maastricht with Sabine Kühlich and Fay Claassen and later music psychology in Sheffield . On October 8, 2017, she and Sabine Kühlich sang the orchestral work “Wir sind Demokratie” composed by guitarist Peter Autschbach at the 6th Congress of the IG Bergbau, Chemie, Energie industrial union in front of 1,100 delegates. Since 2009 Samira Saygili has been playing in a duo with Peter Autschbach and from 2009-2013 she could also be heard with the band Still Collins . Her first duo album with Autschbach (in previous productions she was guest soloist on two pieces each), "Sweeter Than Honey", was released in autumn 2018 on Acoustic Music Records . For this album Saygili wrote the lyrics of five tracks ("Sweeter Than Honey", "Holobiont", "Unhappy Triad", "Downhome Blues", "No Lust" and "A Scent Of Love") and composed the song "No Lust ". The songs “Baron Otard”, “Sweeter Than Honey”, “Holobiont”, “Downhome Blues” and “Unhappy Triad” are compositions by Autschbach and Saygili on this album. The cover art for this CD was created by the illustrator Selina Peterson . In November 2018 the duo Peter Autschbach & Samira Saygili could be heard together with Peter Finger as part of the “International Guitar Night” tour. On December 14th, 2019 the duo Saygili-Autschbach won 1st prize in the "Best Singer" category and an award in the special category "Best Guitarist" with the song "Holobiont" (music: Peter Autschbach, text: Samira Saygili) the event German Rock and Pop Prize .

Music teacher

Samira Saygili leads singing workshops and gives lessons in voice training, singing techniques and breathing in Germany and Italy.
