Samsara Blues Experiment is a German band that was founded in the summer of 2007 by Christian Peters, after his departure as a guitarist for Terraplane .
In autumn 2008 the line-up of the first three studio albums was found in Berlin with Hans Eiselt on second guitar, Richard Behrens on bass and drummer Thomas Vedder, all of whom have already played in numerous underground bands or are still active. The musical style of the Samsara Blues Experiment consists of a mixture of stoner rock , psychedelic rock and folkloric influences, whereby the influence of Indian raga music should be mentioned in particular .
After the release of the first demo, the band played a number of concerts in Germany, on the west coast of the USA, in Italy, Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium. B. at the Yellowstock Festival 2009 in Geel . In March 2010 the debut album "Long Distance Trip" was finally released on World In Sound Records / Rough Trade . In 2010 the band could be seen at trendy festivals such as the Burg-Herzberg-Festival , the Yellowstock and the Stoned From The Underground Festival.
2011 followed after further European tours and a further appearance at the Roadburn Festival with "Revelation & Mystery" the second long player. Also published by World In Sound / Rough Trade, the band took a somewhat more straightforward, less psychedelic direction and was featured in the national trade press such as u. a. Mentioned Rock Hard. In 2012 the "USA-Demo" CD was re-released with a newly edited cover design on the label Electric Magic Records, newly founded by Christian Peters. Further concerts followed in southern and eastern Europe, including as headliners at Robustfest in Kiev. In October of the same year Samsara Blues Experiment played at the WDR Rockpalast-Crossroads Festival in Bonn.
In spring 2013 the band released the Rockpalast concert on CD on Electric Magic Records. On November 14th, 2013 the band released their third studio album "Waiting For The Flood", which was also released again on Electric Magic Records. Like both predecessors, the album, which has four longtracks with a total length of almost 50 minutes, was recorded and produced in the Big Snuff Studio in Berlin by bassist Richard Behrens. The cover artwork is by the Polish artist Zdzislaw Beksinski.
In May 2014 bassist Richard Behrens left the band after being replaced by Hans Eiselt on bass at the beginning of the year. In April 2017 the band released their fourth studio album "One with the Universe" with this line-up.
