Samson pollen

Samson Pollen (born March 19, 1931 in New York City ; † December 4, 2018 there ) was an American draftsman, who became known for his pin-up drawings.

Pollen grew up in the Bronx ; Pollen's family moved to Brooklyn when he was 12 . He studied at the prestigious National Academy Museum and School in Manhattan and learned under the then Dean Charles Louis Hinton . After graduating, Pollen completed an apprenticeship in an art studio. During the Korean War , Pollen was stationed with the United States Coast Guard . Here he made the first illustrations for the official military magazine.

Pollen has created numerous covers and interior illustrations for pulp magazines , paperbacks, magazines and men's magazines such as Men's Adventure Magazine, in which he illustrated stories by Evan Hunter , Mario Puzo , Richard Wright and Donald Westlake .
