particularities

The Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 (code name: Cooper) is a smartphone from the Galaxy series from Samsung with the Android operating system . It was introduced and released by Samsung in February 2011. technology

Display

As usual, the device is operated via a capacitive display . The TFT screen has a diagonal of 8.89 cm (3.5 inches) with a resolution of 320 × 480 pixels.

camera

The Ace has a rear camera with 5 megapixel resolution and an LED camera flash. A front camera is not installed. The camera has an autofocus and takes photos in the format of 2560 × 1920 pixels. Videos are saved with a resolution of 176 × 144, 320 × 240 or 640 × 480 pixels. The camera also has smile and face recognition, and it is also possible to determine the location via (A) GPS for the location of the photo. However, the Ace does not have a hardware button for triggering. The contrast and brightness can be adjusted in the camera menu. Among other things, the camera in the Samsung Galaxy Ace supports double digital zoom.

processor

A Qualcomm MSM7227 processor with ARMv6 architecture and an Adreno 200 GPU is built into the normal Galaxy Ace .

Custom ROMs

There is a wealth of custom ROMs for the Samsung Galaxy Ace. A custom ROM is a modified Android, and thus the Galaxy Ace is unofficially supported up to Android version 5.1.

There are also many custom ROMs for the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2.

Modifications

In addition to the Ace (GT-S 5830) there is the Ace I (GT-S 5830i), the Ace Duos with dual SIM function and the successor models Ace Plus, Ace 2, Ace 3 and Ace 4.

Ace I

The Samsung Galaxy Ace I (also called Cooper) has a 32 MHz faster processor than the "normal Ace". Since it has a different graphics chip, for which Broadcom or Samsung have not published the drivers, and a different processor, no custom ROMs that are developed for the Ace (without i) can run on it.

Ace DUOS

The Ace DUOS has a dual SIM function and is therefore better suited for business people who use two SIMs. From a technical level it is a mixture of Ace i and Ace Plus. The main memory is 512 MB. The internal memory is larger (512 MB) than the Galaxy Ace.

Ace Plus

The Ace Plus (GT-S 7500) has a 1000 MHz processor and 512 MB RAM. In addition, the Ace Plus has a larger internal memory of 3 GB.

Ace 2

The Ace 2 has a larger internal (1.2 GB for apps and 1.1 GB internal storage) and RAM (768 MB). There is also a variant that is equipped with NFC . It has a dual-core processor with 800 MHz clock per core.

Ace 3

Released by Samsung in October 2013, the Ace 3 is a mid-range smartphone with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded via microSD. It has LTE , NFC and WiFi Direct and is equipped with the Samsung TouchWiz surface. Its operating system is Android 4.2.2.

Ace 4

The Ace 4 is offered in an LTE and a UMTS variant. Both offer a 4.3 inch display with a resolution of 800 × 480 pixels and a battery with 1900 mAh capacity. The internal memory is 8 gigabytes, which can be expanded with an SD card (XC, up to 64GB). The camera has a resolution of 5 MP. The LTE model has a four-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and 1 gigabyte of RAM, the UMTS version has a 1 GHz two-core processor and 512 megabytes of RAM.
