Samuel Dickstein (born May 12, 1851 in Warsaw ; † September 28, 1939 there ) was a Polish mathematician .

From 1869 to 1876 he studied at the Russian University in Warsaw. Two years later, in 1878, he founded his own private school, which lasted until 1888.

During this time (1884) Dickstein founded a series of textbooks for mathematics and physics textbooks in Polish. Since 1888 he published two scientific magazines, Mathematical Papers and Physical Papers , and from 1897 Mathematical News . In 1919 he became a professor of mathematics at Warsaw University . In 1921 he was awarded an honorary doctorate from this university.

He was one of the founders of the Zjednoczenie party , which campaigned for the assimilation of Jews in Poland. Samuel Dickstein died from a German bomb at the beginning of the Second World War.
