Samuel Dresemius
Samuel Dresemius (born June 11, 1578 in Dithmarschen , † October 3, 1638 in Spandau ) was a German teacher .
Life
Dresemius attended school in Hamburg and went to the Brandenburg University of Frankfurt to study , where he received his master's degree after four years. He later held colleges in Greifswald and Rostock and then went to Salzwedel as vice-principal . Here Dresemius made the acquaintance of Governor Thomas von dem Knesebeck (1559-1625), whose three sons he accompanied to study in Frankfurt.
After the death of Karl Bumann (1551-1610) Dresemius was rector of the Joachimsthal school . When the imperial troops destroyed the school, he had to flee to Berlin.
He died of asthma and was buried on October 7, 1638 in the St. Nikolai Church (Spandau) .
