Samuel Jenner (from Utzigen)
Samuel Jenner (* 1624 probably in Landshut; † September 7, 1699 probably in Bern; citizen of Bern) was a Bernese magistrate, Herr zu Utzigen .
Samuel was born to Abraham Jenner and Elisabeth Gatschet . In 1645 he married first Margarethe Huber († 1660) and in 1660 Anna Margaretha von Graffenried, daughter of the Venner Christoph von Graffenried (1603-1642). In 1651 he came to the Bernese Great Council, 1671 to the Small Council, from 1682 he was with interruptions until the death of Venner zu Gerwern ( Society of Middle Lions ). From 1656 to 1662 he was governor of Wangen an der Aare . In 1664 he bought the Utzigen estate and built the early baroque castle there. In 1682 he sold Utzigen and donated the Jenner family box for it. Samuel Jenner was the uncle of the architect Samuel Jenner .
