San Antonio de Lomerío is a town in the Santa Cruz department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

San Antonio is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) San Antonio de Lomerío in the province of Ñuflo de Chávez . The village is located at an altitude of 395  m on the left bank of the Quebrada Tobosi a few kilometers before its union with the Río Zapocoz Norte . Closest cities are San Ramón (65 km) in the west and Concepción (80 km) in the north.

San Antonio is located in the Bolivian lowlands in the Chiquitania region , a landscape between Santa Cruz and the Brazilian border that is still sparsely populated in large regions .

The region's climate is a semi-humid climate of the warm subtropics . The monthly average temperatures fluctuate only slightly over the course of the year between 20 ° C in the winter months of June and July with strong cold southerly winds, and around 25 ° C from October to February (see climate diagram San Javier). The annual average precipitation is around 1000 mm, which falls mainly in the wet season from November to March, while the arid months from June to September show monthly values ​​between 25 and 50 mm.

San Antonio is located at a distance of 260 kilometers by road northeast of Santa Cruz , the capital of the department.

From Santa Cruz, the asphalted highway Ruta 4 leads 47 kilometers in an easterly direction via Cotoca to Pailón . Here it meets Ruta 9 , which in a northerly direction via Los Troncos and San Julián reaches San Ramón after a further 148 kilometers . The Ruta 9 then continues via Trinidad in the far northeast of the country to Guayaramerín on the Brazilian border.

From San Ramón, a dirt road finally leads east and after another 65 kilometers reaches San Antonio .
