The San Fernando Hill ( Spanish Cerro San Fernando , in Chile Cerro Benavides ) is a 650 m high hill on the West Antarctic James Ross Island . It rises northeast of Matkah Point .
Argentine scientists named it in 1979 in the course of geological work. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 1988. The namesake of the Chilean name is Pedro Benavides Becerra from the Fuerza Aérea de Chile , participant in the 21st Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1966–1967).
