San Jerónimo Norte (pronunciation [ san xɛˌrɔnimɔ 'nɔrtɛ ]) is a small town in northeastern Argentina .
The city was founded in 1858 by Ricardo Foster and Lorenzo Bodenmann together with other emigrants from the Valais village of Visperterminen . Even today, some residents speak the old Valais dialect in addition to Spanish .
The main line of business during the early days was growing grain. Today the local income is mainly based on the dairy and furniture industries.
San Jerónimo Norte and Brig-Glis have been twin cities since 2015 .
